The letter is one of the most random we have gotten thus far. He didn't have a lot of time at the computer....and you can tell. It was definitely written with just his train of thought.
Check it out....
Well this week was pretty legit. My companion decided to be a missionary and start to work. So we worked hard this week. We taught some great people and found some people that will hopefully start making good progress soon. We walked a lot with our two areas. Just my luck...we have the biggest area in Mexico City. I think that it’s good though because I am getting skinnier and skinnier and all my pants are big and my shirts. It’s kind of ridonkulous. But anyways, yesterday was a good day. I was able to do my first confirmation to the lady we baptized last week. I know what you’re thinking "oh wow how cool.” But it’s not that cool when you don’t know Spanish. But I did it fine. My Spanish is better than I think. But I was just nervous because I didn’t want to speak in front of everyone. But my heart was pounding so hard and my hands were shaking. I thought I was going to pass out. Luckily, it all ended up good. I think I was overreacting. which is weird cause that’s not like me ;).I don’t understand why people tell us to go by at a specific time and then when we do, they aren’t there. That is horrible. We walk for like 30 minutes to go to their house and they aren’t there. I don’t understand it. And then...oh never mind. It’s just annoying. But it’s been super nice here. More and more people are telling me I look more moreno but a bunch of people in the street still call me wedo. That makes me feel good. But I was kind of exciting about this event. So we started teaching this guy. He is typical Mexican. He works in a little key making thing that looks like a box. But he has these boots that probably cost more than his house and car. They are sweet though. They are like cowboy boots and the have gold around the sole and like a big design in gold on the toe. I’m going to take a picture of them. His name is Martin and he is way chill. But the point that I am excited about, other than his boots, is that we were talking and he asked us where we were from and I said California. And he said “oh, you’re not from Mexico?” wooooooooohooooooooooooo. I almost gave him a hug. I was so excited. The language is coming good. I think I am starting to speak like the people here which is good in one respect, but at the same time not good because they have an ugly accent. But I learn a lot every day. The other night I had a dream straight in Spanish. It’s weird. And sometimes when I write in my journal I find myself writing in English. I only notice when i get to a word that I don’t know. But anyways, everything is going good here. I am loving this place and working hard, trying to be the missionary that I need to be. This place is cool. The air is killing me. Here, no one has dryers which is weird. haha. But no seriously the air makes my clothes smell really weird. I don’t really care though because I don’t need to smell good for anyone.Love all of you and miss you. Cuidense.LoveHaden
