Elder Jaramillo has hit his 4 week mark in the MTC

Below is the most recent letter from Elder Jaramillo.  It's is amazing how much he grows with each week.  It's a blessing to all of us in our family that he is enjoying his experience and thriving.

Also, please note that in certain letters there are links (in orange) that will give you more information about certain aspects of his letter.  Also, if you have any questions about anything that he says about our church or his experience please contact me and I will help fill in the gaps.

I know that Haden appreciates all your support and I can tell you that our family is grateful for everybody that takes the time to write him letters and send him packages.

Yesterday was my one month (actually 4 week) mark here.  It's pretty crazy how fast time goes.  I am learning a lot of Spanish but get really nervous when I have to talk to my teacher because she is scary and I freak out and get all nervous.

Last week Ethan Crisp came in to the MTC.  I was walking down the stairs to class and he is sitting there on the couch and it kinda freaked me out.  It was good to see him, but it is hard calling him elder and not Ethan. haha.
On Tuesday Elder Yoshihiko Kikuchi from the Quorum of the 70 came and spoke to us.  What an amazing man. The spirit was definitely in that room while he spoke to us and I almost turned into a little girl and just started sobbing.  He is the man.  He told a story about how these two "gringo" missionaries came to his door in Japan and told him the story about Joseph Smith when he was 14.  It's crazy to think that while I am in Mexico I could be baptising someone who could one day be in the Quorum of the 70.  As I am writing this down I get chills to think that I could make an impact on someone's life like that.

A few things I thought about this week is how much God wants us to be with Him.  There is a teacher here who is like a walking spirit.  He said God wants us to talk to him.  Every time we are just taking little steps towards Him, he is sprinting at us with arms wide open.  Another thing was that how merciful God is.  Even towards satan's followers.  After cain killed able, God had mercy on him.  That is crazy to think that no matter how much we sin, as long as we know that He is our Lord, He will have mercy on us.  All we have to do is ask.

But I am feeling the Spirit more then ever.  I miss everyone like crazy and I miss Bear Creek like crazy. sometimes I just go on google maps to look at it from the sky.  maspoot!  But I am doing great.  I love you all and I am so ready to leave this place.  Only 5 more weeks till Mexico. Peace, Love and God bless.
Love,

Elder Jaramillo
