First Full Week...

We got another email update from Elder Jaramillo.  This time after his first full week in the MTC.

His P-day is on Thursday, so that is when we will be getting emails from him and when he will be able to read your emails or comments.  I have forwarded each comment to him and I know it helps him to know that he has so much support.

I have also updated his address on the Contact page.  This will be the address to use while he is in the MTC.

Read more after the jump...

The days are starting to go by way faster now.  Especially the days where I am doing something.  My P-days and Sundays go super slow which gives me more time to think about home. I know this is going to be a great experience.  It already has been and I have only been here for a week.  I am meeting a lot of cool people.  All the people in the district are great.  I felt like they were brothers the third day and we all have such a tight relationship.

I have been praying a lot and it really helps.  We don't really have a life here.  We have an hour of gym and our meals, those times off help keep me sane.  Everyone supports each other.  It's weird, one of the rules in the gym is "don't be competitive."  But we're a bunch of 19 year old guys, so how well do you think that rules keeps up?  But it does for the most part.  I don't know what it is about this place, but it changes the way you think.
It's a lot of work and I am learning Spanish like crazy.  I feel like my head is going to explode.  My head has actually grown 3 inches in diameter.  But my waist has shrunk ;)  But I am excited that I am learning so much here and I cant wait to get to Mexico.  I only have thirty minutes on the computer at the MTC so I am limited but God is definitely with me and He is making me feel very comfortable and helping me focus on the work.  I miss you all a bunch and I cant wait to come back and share all the stories that I have with you guys.
Oh, but yesterday I taught my first lesson to a real investigator. The hardest part was that I had to get to know her all in Spanish and guess what. Nailed It!!!!!!!!!!!!!  boo yah!

I do have to tell you about this one guy in my zone, his story is just amazing. He is 23 years old, got converted a year and a half ago and came on his mission.  The crazy thing is that when he came out, he owned his own house, owned his own company and none of his family or friends supported him.  But he is a great guy and you can tell his testimony is so strong.  He hasn't complained about not getting any letters but I really wish he would because he deserves them, he is an awesome person.

I leave for Mexico on July 11.  I miss everyone back home and i am praying for you all.

I love you all.

Much love,

Elder Jaramillo
