Special Experiences

In this week's letter Elder Jaramillo shares a special moment he had.  He was hesitant to share it because it was very personal and meaningful for him, but he decided that he would share it because he hopes that it will touch some of us the way it touched him.

Letter to America,
I love my mission and I love Mexico.
Let me tell you about a story that happened this week that made me feel the Spirit way strong.
Friday night, we went to visit a family who was going to invite a friend to listen to us. When we got there, the family friend didn't show up.  He told the family that he didn't want to come. So right off the bat, I was a little bummed.  Either way, we started to teach and there were 7 members there listening to us.  We started to talk about Jesus and his sacrifice for us.  My companions went first and both of them said some words and bore their testimony.  Then it was my turn.
I started talking and I told them how I was before my mission and how much this mission has changed my life and how thankful I am to everyone who made it possible for me to be here. When I started running out of things to say, I was kind of stumbling to find the words that I wanted.  I finally just said "I am so thankful that Jesus made it possible for me to be here. Without Him I wouldn't be where I am or the person I am. I love Him."  When I said I love Him, I felt chills that started in my head that went all the way down my back.
I firmly believe that we all need to say that we love Jesus more then we do.  I have heard many people say that, but it's time to start to show it and not keep it a secret.
This love that I have for my Savior is one of the most special blessings that I have received in these 19 months. And I will be eternally grateful for that and for His sacrifice. I love Him.
I love all of you. I hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving. An hermana gave me turkey for Thanksgiving, but we are in Mexico so of course, she made it spicy.  It was good and all but nothing like America. haha.  And the potatoes weren't the same either. Plus, I had a stomach infection so that didn't help. Stomach infections are a regular thing for me though, so I am kinda used to it.  But I can't wait to eat regular turkey and mashed potatoes next year.
Love you all. Have a good week. And pray that the Lakers will start to win. I am!!!!!!
Love
Haden

  1. Hi Haden,

I can't believe how fast your mission is going by but I love reading your letters and hearing about your stories of success. I too love Jesus! He has always been so good to me. Look at all of our blessings as a family and the many years of love and support we share.

Sorry about your Lakers... the Suns are in a winning mood lately, Yay!

Hope your stomach feels better and always remember that your uncle and aunt in AZ loves you so much!

    OXOXOXOX - Uncle Blaine
