Nothing cheers up a missionary like good Lakers news...

While reading this letter keep in mind that Elder Hoots only gets information on Mondays when he can read our emails to him.  Thus, this was his letter after reading all of our emails from the weekend.  You'll understand when you read his letter.

He has also sent pictures this week.  The Pictures Page is updated so you can check it out.  And yes, that skinny kid in the pics is Haden.

Dear America,
Well, not much to say other then I will be home in time for the NBA Finals. And the Lakers will be there. Yes, I am so stoked. Dwight Howard is a Laker baby and my emotions are taking me over. I can't share my joy with anyone here. One, I don't think anyone cares. Two, I think there are maybe five people who know who the Lakers are. And finally, nobody here  knows who Dwight Howard is. So yes, I am very happy, but I am all alone in my happiness. There was one other missionary who was from Los Angeles but he went home. Either way, I am soooooooooooooooooooooooooo stoked.
Anyways, this week was good. Me and my companion are getting along really well and we're having a good time. It is not all perfect though, there are a few things that we don't like.  We have baptisms lined up with people and then they just disappear.  We try not to let it get us down and we just keep working hard. We have a lot of people we are teaching that are about ready for baptism, but a few of them are having problems fully committing.  So we are working with them.  We don't let anything get us down or take away our happiness, we just keep working.
This week we bought lazers. But wait...they are sweet lazers. They go like three miles. They are illegal in the US, but not here.  They are pretty cool. Every night we just sit on top of our roof and freak people out. Like shine it in front of them when they are walking. I am such a geek, but it seriously is so fun.
So the biggest thing that has happened here in Mexico is that some drug dealer just got elected as President....only in Mexico. And then the soccer team won the gold medal in the Olympics. If you were here, you would have thought that they just won independence it was crazy.  People just shooting off guns in the air, crazy parties everywhere, everyone is drunk at 10/a.  It was a little ridiculous, but fun to witness.  They are crazy.
Hopefully, I have some good news for you all next week.  We are hoping to have a couple baptisms. We will try but we don't really know what is happening with them right now.
Anyways. Love you all and miss you all a ton.
I have officially passed my 15 month mark so I will see you all in 9 months....just in time for the NBA Finals. Go Lakers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
