Investigators Galore

Below is Elder Hoots' letter from this week.  Again he has some good stories about investigators that he is teaching.

He seems like he is doing great there in Mexico.  As the holidays approach we ask that you all keep him in your prayers and if you haven't, please send him a note to let him know you are thinking about him during this time.

Thank you for all your support.

This week was an awesome week.
My companion and I worked our butts off and it payed off.  We found some awesome people and they are interested in the church. We taught so many great lessons.
We are teaching this old lady, Señora Cuca. At first we were just teaching her.  But then her husband came.  He listened to our lesson too, but only because she told him to sit his old self down and listen. haha.  He lived in Escondido which is really close to Temecula, so it was kind of cool to talk to him about that.  But he doesn't speak English.  They are a great couple and they listen to us and seem very interested, so I was excited to meet them.
We are also teaching this man named Alejandro.  We've only met with him a few times, and still he has already read all the way to Alma in the Book of Mormon.  We were walking past his street and he was sitting there in the street with his friends drinking, like everyone here does.  He was super drunk, but he still got up and came to talk to us.  He thought I couldn't understand him, so he started talking to my companion.   His friends were still sitting in the street and one of them, trying to be funny, yelled "wedo."  I decided I would go talk to him.  So I did and he told me he had heard a lot of very good things about Mormons and he wanted to know what he needed to do to be a part of our church.  So right there I gave him a lesson.  After listening he decided that he liked it and wanted to keep learning.  I was stoked.  Unfortunately, he isn't in my area, so other missionaries will have to teach him from here on out, but he is an awesome dude and I hope he sticks it out.
My MTC companion is in my district here in Mexico.  So that's kind of cool.  About a year before he came out here he broke his leg and had 10 screws put in it.  Five of them broke while he has been here so he had to have surgery.  He has been sitting in his house by for like 3 weeks.  He is ready to kill himself he is so bored.    Because he can't leave, my companion and I have helped him out with some appointments.  Last night we just sat and talked about things.  We both came to the conclusion that we are never going to live in Mexico City again.  haha.  It's funny because we both  think alike.  But we just had a talk, talked about family, our time here, and about a bunch of other stuff.  It was nice to finish off the week with something relaxing and fun.
Oh, I have a crazy story from this week.  On Saturday, we received a text on our phone.  In Spanish it said "hello cuties."  We read and and couldn't figure out who it was from.  We were trying to figure it out all night.  Then we got a text from the same number the next day that said "the truth is my name is Nathan and I am gay.   just want to know if you guys are gay?"   Needless to say, we didn't respond and blocked that number fast.  I don't know how that fool got our number, but now I'm nervous.  Good thing I am leaving this area in 3 weeks.
Anyway, that's the story I am going to leave you with.  I am doing good and I am safe.  I look more and more Mexican every day, so that is good.  I am learning a lot of Spanish and other things that I will be able to use and apply in my life when I get back.  I am very thankful for the opportunity to be here and the safety and peace I feel here.
Have a good week.  Love you all.
