We finally got a letter from Elder Hoots this week and it was accompanied by a whole host of pictures. The Picture page is updated. He is due home in just a couple months, so there are only a few more of these left. Crazy how time flies. Enjoy!!!
Letter to America.
It's cold in Mexico. My hands and feet are always cold, but my cheeks are always hot, i don't know whats going on here. But I still love it.
Time is going by way fast and I am super bad at writing letters, I know. But it's for a good reason....when I think of what that reason is, I'll tell you.
These past weeks have been awesome. I have a new comp, Elder Smith, he has like three months in Mexico and is still trying to learn Spanish. But I love him. He does what he is supposed to and helps me to be better and work harder....which is also why i am so tired. We have a bunch of fun together and have been seeing some cool miracles. It's funny because his first comp didn't like to eat in the street, I do. And so every time we are walking I ask him, "have you tried this?" When he says no, I freak out and make him eat it. So far he has experienced, Tacos de pastor, tacos de carnitas(totally different from the carnitas in america) and elotes (corn on the cob with mayonessa, parmesan cheese and chili). haha. It's fun, we laugh a lot but work more.
I have never been so excited to do the work more. I realized that I only have 3.5 months left so I gotta leave it all out on the playing field. I am trying. When I get home, I am gunna sleep for two straight days. I already decided. Haha.
Finally after a little drought we finally had a baptism. Guadalupe Estrada. She has been trying so hard to change her life for two months to be baptized, so it has been a relief to finally see her get baptized. Totally makes up for the month and a half that we didn't have a baptism. I am happy. It was my comps first baptism so he was happy to.
My comp is a triplet. He has two brothers that look like him....that's the definition of a triplet, if you didn't know. And the funny thing is that they are both on their missions in Mexico City too. One in the North and one in the East. We are working hard so that we have more baptisms than them. haha.
I am excited for the work. We have a lot of people listening to us, but they just have a few things that need to be figured out. Sometimes we come home sad because things don't work out how we want them too, but we try to never lose the excitement that the work brings us. We are gunna kill it here soon, I can feel it. If we keep working as hard as we are, then we have to have success. That's the Lord's promise and He always fulfills His promises.
I love Mexico, miss America, but I am also gunna miss Mexico.
Hope everyone is well.
Love,
Haden
