New Area....New Experiences

Short letter this week.  He didn't have much time because he had to use his p-day to get settled in to his new digs.

His new area has been updated on the map to the right.  You can click on the map to check out his new area.  His area extends all the way to Lopez Portillo (just north of the point on the map).

For now, I'm going to take the address off the contact info page because I have not confirmed that it is still the correct address to send things to.

Thanks for  all your support.

Below is the letter......

I dont' have much time but I wanted to write you all really quick.
This week was good....as always. This week I will complete my 8th month here, pretty crazy. But I am loving my mission
So many awesome people and things in my new area. I am in a  place called, Tlaltenco, Tlahuac. Its right on the edge of DF (Districo Federal) and I am almost in the Estado de Mexico (State of Mexico). But it is awesome. We have some great people we are teaching and it is such a change from my other area. I like it, it gives me a chance to walk around without having to dodge cars every five seconds, haha. So it's a good change of pace. I'm just trying to get how things are organized here because it is not by number like my last area.
My new companion is Elder Gonzalez. He is from Tampico. He likes rap, like me, he likes soccer, like me, and we get a long pretty well.
The area here is cool but the missionaries haven't been too successful recently, I am trying to change that. We have been working really hard. We have some people who are really close but somehow it seems like we still have a long way to go with them. But we are trying.
Mexico is treating me well.  I'm just stiiiiiiiiiiiiiiillllllll trying to lose myself in the work. I have had some great experiences while I've been here and it seems like everyday brings something new. I am getting more Mexican looking, but here the sun is just burning my face. So I need to start taking care of that.
I don't have much else to say.  In short, everything here is going well. Yesterday we had six investigators come to church. I'm not gonna lie, it was pretty sweet. I was stoked. My companion was too. Hopefully I can send pictures next week.  I love you all. Keep working hard. I miss you guys....and America.....and golf.....and the Lakers.
Love,
Elder Hoots

  1. Haden,

Awesome that the new area is a positive already. We are so very proud of you and the work you are doing... for an area that hasn't had much success I think six investigators going to church is amazing. Keep up the great work!

What a great experience you are having. We pray for your success and are thinking about you all the time...
