Up and Up

Here is Elder Hoot's letter for this week.  Things are looking on the up and up in Mexico and he is doing well.

His time was short this week, so the stories are a little shorter, but it is cool to see how emotionally invested he gets with each investigator.

Please keep him in your prayers and send holiday notes to give him some encouragement.  We, his family, appreciate it.

Well another good week in Mexico.
All our hard work is finally paying off. We have a baptism coming this week. It's a 12 year old named Andres. He has been to church like 8 times and has a lot of friends in the ward and is basically already a member. He is a cool little kid, just a little crazy. But we have been waiting a long time for him to commit. Finally on Thursday his Mom told us and him that it is his decision.  If he wants to get baptized then let's go. Well, he wants it so here we go.
Also we have another new person ready for baptism. Her name is Irma. Her friend is a member but inactive. She is  28 and she is super chosen.  I our first meeting she was very interested.  She agreed with everything that we told her and committed right then. She is chill. She has a little kid and lives in my area cause she is still in high school. Because she accepted so quickly, we don't really know that much about her because we haven't had a lot of time to spend with her.  But I am looking forward to getting to know her better and am excited she has made the choice to get baptized.
Also, that same inactive member that I mentioned above recommended somebody else to us.  It is actually her mother.  We have met with her a couple times, but I don't know her that well either.  But she is chosen as well.   She is an awesome person.
Another lady we are teaching is Leticia.  I think I have mentioned her before. But she is awesome. We have been teaching her for about a month. We found out that she works at Tiangis on Saturdays and Sundays.  It's a big outdoor market here and she has worked there for 16 years.  We were talking to her this week and she told us that she is not going to work this Sunday because she wants to go work.   She also told us that in January she is going to stop working on Sundays so she can come to church.  It's so awesome.  I was so happy to hear that from her.  When we first started talking to her I didn't think it was possible, but there are some crazy things going on here.
I also have to give you an update on Jose Luis.  He is doing great.  He has to work a lot this month, so we haven't been able to visit with him as much as we would like, but I have definitely seen a change in him and it is great to see. I know he is going to be a great leader one day.  I am so happy to see him change.
Anyways. That's a quick a update because I don't have much time this week.  But things are looking very good here. I am happy and doing well.
I love you guys. Christmas soon.
Love,
Elder Jaramillo

  1. Haden,

Every week I read your blog and I am so proud of you! We are all so impressed by all of your hard work and dedication. The people that you are teaching are so lucky to have you in their lives. I must admit, I am a little jealous that they get to see you and spend time with you. I miss you so much. Keep up the great work that you are doing. We can't wait till you come home to hug you again! xoxoxo Love, your favorite aunt, Jana
